Frequently asked questions

Do you ship, or is everything pickup-only?
Both, depending on what you're buying. Accessories (paddle wax, blade covers, hats) can be picked up in Vancouver or shipped anywhere in North America. Paddles are pickup or pre-order only — see the Trivium and Viper tabs for current timelines.
Where do I pick up my order?
Pickups happen at Dragon Zone Paddling Club in Vancouver. Once your order is placed, book a time through our Calendly pickup scheduler and have your order number ready.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
Accessory shipping is a flat rate shown at checkout ($10–25 within Canada) and goes out via Canada Post. Paddle pre-orders ship separately — details on the paddle tabs.
I ordered for pickup but I'm not in Vancouver. What now?
No problem — just email info@twinpaddlesports.com. For accessories we can usually ship it to you; for paddles we'll either refund you or help set up a pre-order.
Do you ship to the US or internationally?
Yes. We ship small items across North America — please email us for shipping outside of North America. We don't ship paddles from our Vancouver inventory; paddles ship only as made-to-order pre-orders, sent from their factories in Lithuania (Trivium) and Raiatea, French Polynesia (Viper). See the paddle tabs for timelines.
Are Trivium paddles in stock right now?
We keep a small stock in Vancouver when we can, for local pickup. It moves fast and sells out — if you don't see what you want online, email us to start a pre-order.
How does a Trivium pre-order work?
Pre-orders are made to order, directly from Trivium in Lithuania. There's a current wait of about 4–6 months due to high demand, and a $200 shipping cost shared across all customers in the order — so we recommend pooling an order with teammates. Here's the process:
  1. Make a copy of our pre-order template and have your teammates fill in their orders.
  2. Send us the link or file once it's complete.
  3. We email an invoice to each person's address, payable through our website.
  4. Once everyone has paid, we place the order with Trivium.

Can I customize my paddle?
Yes — model (310 or 340), blade colour, and handle type are all yours to pick for a pre-order. Indicate your full customization on the order form.
Can I buy just a handle, without a full paddle?
Yes. One of the great things about Triviums is that you can swap the handle to your preference. Trivium handles are sold separately ($150) and can be picked up in Vancouver or shipped anywhere in North America.
When's the next restock?
Restocks usually land in the fall (September–October) or spring (April–May), with variation year to year. Email us for the most current estimate before planning around a date.
Which Viper model should I choose?
All Viper models work well in any boat — the main differences are weight and stiffness. Bamboo (~500g) has the most flex for a softer feel and is carbon-reinforced on the back of the blade. Fusion (~450g) pairs a full-carbon blade with a wood shaft for more stiffness while staying durable. Carbon (~400g) is the lightest and stiffest, with a solid feel and little bend. We also carry the Pro and the Peperu steering blade. Heavier paddles can be easier to hold in high wind, and more flex can be gentler on the joints — but a lot comes down to personal feel.
Round or square blade — what's the difference?
Round blades let you bring your rate up quickly, which makes them more agile and better for open ocean and catching waves. Square blades give a heavier, more responsive catch that suits flatter conditions.
What blade size should I get?
Blades range from about 704 cm² to 904 cm². A larger blade gives more power per stroke but tires you out faster — better for sprinting, shorter distances, and larger or stronger paddlers. A smaller blade is easier to sustain over longer distances (5 km+).
S-bend or straight shaft?
An S-bend (double-bent) shaft sits your top arm slightly further back and changes your top-hand wrist angle; a straight shaft is the classic feel. Peperu steering blades come with either a bamboo or carbon shaft.
What length should I order?
It depends on your body (height and wingspan) and your boat. Sit-on-top canoes put you higher off the water than a dug-out, and OC6 often sits higher than OC1. If you're a dragon boater, the rule of thumb is to use the same height as your dragon boat paddle, or 1" taller. The best way to know is to try it out with a club or teammate's paddle.
Do you cut paddles to my height?
Yes. If a paddle is listed as 'uncut', we cut and glue it to your requested height for free (about 2 weeks). If a paddle is listed at a specific height, we can cut it to a shorter height for $50.
Are Vipers in stock, or do I pre-order?
We occasionally have Vipers in stock in Vancouver for local pickup — see the product listings for availability. If the paddle you want isn't in stock, we can place a pre-order directly with Viper in Raiatea, French Polynesia. Pre-orders carry a $150 shipping cost. Email info@twinpaddlesports.com to get started.
How will I know when paddles are back in stock?
Trivium restocks usually arrive in the fall (September–October) or spring (April–May). Availability changes year to year, so email us for the latest estimate or to be added to a pre-order.
Will you restock Viper paddles in Vancouver?
We don't have plans to add more Vipers to our Vancouver inventory right now. If you're after a specific paddle, we can set up a pre-order directly with Viper.
Do you sell at regattas or events?
We go to the occasional event, but we choose to do most of our business online since we're a small business with narrow inventory. Email us to check whether we'll be at an upcoming event.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If you ordered for pickup but can't collect (for example, you're outside Vancouver), email us and we'll cancel and refund to your original payment method.
My paddle broke — what do I do?
All of our products are covered by a 1-year warranty for manufacturing defects. If we assess that your product broke when it wasn't supposed to, we'll repair, refund, or replace it. Trivium paddles are covered by an extended 3-year warranty. Email info@twinpaddlesports.com with photos of your paddle, a description of what happened, and your order number.
